The Blanco River Regional Recovery Team (BR3T) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as the long-term recovery group for residents in Hays, Caldwell, Blanco, and Guadalupe counties in Texas.  BR3T's primary mission is to strengthen area-wide disaster coordination, mitigation, and long-term recovery efforts. We achieve this by:

  • Rebuilding Homes: Assisting residents with unmet needs after disasters like floods, fires, and tornadoes through case management, donated materials, volunteer coordination, and construction management.
  • Preventing Homelessness: Offering Housing Stability Services (HSS) to eligible households at risk of homelessness. This includes assistance with rental security/utility deposits, rental application fees, and short-term rental/utility aid to maintain stable housing.
  • Community Preparedness: Providing education and resources to help communities prepare for future disasters.

BR3T prides itself on being community-driven and locally controlled, ensuring that 100% of all donations stay within the local service area to help neighbors recover and maintain housing stability.  Your Gift Makes a Direct Impact: Preventing Homelessness, Building Stability Donations to BR3T support critical programs that address the immediate and long-term needs of disaster survivors and vulnerable residents. Here’s how your donation directly helps keep people housed:

  • $50 covers essential application fees, removing financial barriers that stand between a qualified household and a safe home.
  • $100 funds a household's housing navigation and financial counseling sessions, providing the tools for long-term self-sufficiency.
  • $250 contributes directly to financial assistance for security deposits, transforming the immediate crisis of displacement into the long-term reality of stable housing.
  • $1,000 helps cover critical rent assistance, providing a vital safety net to keep a household stable and prevent eviction while they recover from a crisis

We turn crisis into stability through our permanent Housing Stability Services program, ensuring those in need can secure and maintain safe housing and avoid the devastating cycle of homelessness. Your support is the backbone of our recovery efforts and our most powerful tool for preventing homelessness. Every dollar goes further when combined with the strength of our community.
