Since 2000, For a Day Foundation has lifted the spirits of children with cancer and other serious illnesses through quality of life services. Focusing on normal childhood moments and creating memories with their families gives them hope, strengthens their resiliency, and restores their outlook. Originally founded to host themed parties in hospital playrooms like Queen for a Day and Hero for a Day, we now fulfill small wishes directly from families like birthday parties, graduation celebrations, and hospice and end-of-life requests. If a child passes while we are in the process of fulfilling their wish, we continue to support the family through their grief. Currently, we spend $500 on each family, taking additional care to pursue donations and discounts to stretch every dollar further.
