Regenerosity

Resourcing grassroots organizations that protect and regenerate land and community

Overview

Regenerosity was created by Buckminster Fuller Institute (BFI) in partnership with sister organizations Re-Alliance and LUSH Cosmetics Spring Prize with a mission to accelerate the transition to regenerative economies and societies that live in harmony with nature and enhance the ecologies they depend on. Regenerosity’s purpose is to support and collaborate with grassroots organizations and leaders globally in their efforts to protect, restore, and regenerate their communities and ecosystems. This includes, but is not limited to, providing financial resources, facilitating learning and capacity-building, fostering networks and collaborations, and amplifying the stories and successes of these grassroots initiatives. Regenerosity is dedicated to promoting sustainable, community-led, and regenerative practices, and aims to influence the field of philanthropy to adopt more equitable, trust-based approaches that align with these principles.

We flow trust-based funds to high-potential, community-based initiatives in threatened or degraded landscapes in ways that grow their capacities, scale and impact.

How we support grassroots organizations:

Fund
Through Blossom, our capacity strengthening program, and Seed, our flow fund, we resource community-centered organizations and leaders strengthen their capacity to protect and regenerate their territories and communities.

Connect
Through Nurture, our Funder’ Community of Practice, we explore different ways of power-, knowledge- and resource- sharing with other funders and grantees, using the principles of regeneration. There are currently over 60 active members in the community to date.

Amplify
Pollinate, our storytelling program, focuses on highlighting underrepresented stories of regeneration, and is currently working on a film series in partnership with A Growing Culture titled Liberation Agriculture which highlights the voices of diverse communities practicing regenerative agriculture.
