New ZealandThe Wairarapa Backyard Ultra is a fundraising event for Donation Ripple Effects HEAT. Run over Easter 2026 this event will raise funds for us to be able to deliver dry firewood to families in the Wairarapa. The Wairarapa Backyard Ultra, a true test of grit and determination, unfolds against the picturesque backdrop of Masterton's natural beauty. Each demanding lap of this unique race offers a blend of tranquil riverside paths, scenic lakeside vistas, and the ever-present challenge of the Wairarapa elements.
I am running the first Wairarapa Backyard Ultra and hoping to do 8- 10 laps of a 6.71km course which will mean it is the furthest I have run. Donation Ripple Effects (DRFX) supports Wairarapa families with dry firewood for Winter and I am supporting them as part of my run.
