Millions of people across Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands (ASAL) are facing worsening hunger, pushed to the brink by a prolonged drought, soaring food prices, and fragile livelihoods. More than two million people are expected to experience crisis-level food insecurity from December 2025 through May 2026, with children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and the elderly at the greatest risk.
