We know that the last few months have been difficult for everyone who inhabits the world of Web 3.0. We have found in you an altruistic community that believes in the possibility of a better tomorrow. That has been our principal motivation to continue building.
We can assure you that there has not been a day since the collapse of Terra in which we have not worked to find the best alternatives to ensure the maximum benefit for Angel Protocol and our community. In the next few days/weeks we will be sharing with you the different steps that we will be taking on the path of resurgence of Angel Protocol. Today, we are going to start with some news concerning our dear Galactic Angels holders.
Before we get to our announcement, let’s recap a bit about the history of the Galactic Angels. They are the first NFT collection of Angel Protocol, developed in partnership with Galactic Punks, with a limited supply of 1,378 Angels.
The potential of NFTs goes beyond being a great innovation in online property ownership or being social status symbols, as many consider them to be. Angel Protocol decided to create a project that allowed people to purchase NFTs that generate positive externalities that save the planet while serving as beacons of positivity and charity.
In order to create such a project we needed a partner that believed in the same and we were lucky enough to partner with Galactic Punks, an NFT project with an altruistic and innovative team willing to jump into this mission. None of this would have been possible without them and for that we will be eternally grateful. Together we were able to create Galactic Angels, an NFT project that shows the power that NFTs have to create true social impact and with it, change the world.
Now, let’s explore the first mission of the Galactic Angels and its result. As we know, the Galactic Angels represent charitable giving and social impact across the galaxy. As planetary saviors, they flew through space to seek out our solar system and help save the Earth, succeeding in raising $1.5M for climate change as part of the Restore Earth campaign. Secondary sale royalties go directly to on-chain charity endowments to give perpetual real-world impact.
The Galactic Angels victoriously fulfilled their first mission. Their triumph was also ours, as we were able to see the power that NFTs have to create positive changes in the real world. These saviors became the symbol of a vibrant Web 3 community that proudly contributes to the creation of a better world.
All of the above gave us enough reasons to fight for this project and not let the collapse of Terra be the end of the mission of these warriors. We spent the last few weeks weighing the best alternatives for this collection. It was not an easy process, but we knew we had to look out for the best interest of the project and the community.
After extensive research and multiple meetings with representatives of different marketplaces across many blockchains, One Planet became the ideal partner for the migration of Galactic Angels to their new home in Polygon. After reconnecting with the team behind One Planet, looking at the work that they had done previously, and discovering how aligned our principles were, it felt like it was the right decision. We are confident that this is the best home for our beloved Galactic Angels.
While One Planet will be the first Polygon-native launchpad and marketplace which gives them a natural advantage in the market, Polygon also offers many advantages such as: mass adoption, market opportunities, stability and innovation. Polygon has valuable partnerships with well established brands like Adidas and Under Armour that allow mass adoption for Web 2 and Web 3 users. Also, they have made important alliances with companies such as Meta and Ebay and celebrities making important strides to develop their NFT ecosystem by bringing exposure and innovation. Therefore, this equation of a strong marketplace in an innovative and well established ecosystem makes the perfect fit for Galactic Angels.
For the next coming weeks we will be working with One Planet to ensure the safe landing of Galactic Angels to their new home in Polygon.
